Available Positions

Design ResearcherThe Design Researcher works with a team that conducts a design thinking project for the Innovation Hub with the goal of improvingthe studentexperience in a specific area. Every project looks different but uses design thinking to provide partners with compelling insights that reframe problems innovatively and inspire action.

Design Thinking TeamThe Design Thinking Team supports the facilitation of design thinking sessions and activities with students and campus partners to gather feedback and insights. This role involvesassistingwith planning and running design thinking activities such as empathy interviews, feedback sessions, ideation activities, and prototyping exercises, followed by organizing and processing the data collected.

Curriculum Development Assistant – The Curriculum Development Assistant works with the Design Thinking Coordinator to develop experiential learning programs, design thinking training curricula, and workshop content. This role supports both internal training for Innovation Hub team members and external programming for campus partners and the broader U of T student community.

Storytelling & Media AssistantThe Storytelling & Media Assistant supports Innovation Hub senior leaders and external contractors such as videographers and media professionals with audiovisual storytelling projects. This role involvesassistingwith all aspects of bringing Innovation Hub stories to life through podcasts, videography, photography, and other media formats.

Graphic Designer & Communications AssistantThe Graphic Designer & Communications Assistant creates all the digital communications content for the Innovation Hub. The role includes original graphic designs for reports, presentations, and digital communications channels.

Qualitative Data ArchivistThe Qualitative Data Archivist team supports Design Researchers on all design thinking projects byfacilitatingdata analysis and ensuring qualitative data is processed and stored appropriately. The team is also responsible formaintainingthe Innovation Hub’s large database on the qualitative research software (Dedoose).

Community Engagement Designer & Event FacilitatorThe Community Engagement Designer & Event Facilitator team is the heart of the Innovation Hub, working to create community across our large and multidisciplinary team of student staff. The team consists of a dynamic, creative, and passionate group of students who “bring life” to the Innovation Hub. The team helps create vibrant, inclusive, andequitablespaces for all students.

UI/UX Web DesignerThe UI/UX Web Design Team creates prototypes, visual designs, and written content for the Innovation Hub. Working with the UI/UX Team, the UI/UX Web Designer may have different strengths or areas of expertise in content design.
